It’s been a while since I blogged here. It’s not that I haven’t wanted to but sometimes silence is a much stronger presence.  2010 so far has been a growing experience and one that I’ve kinda watched from the outside and taken notes.  New Ideas… New Ventures, New Opportunity and as always putting up with the Joneses.  What a ride….

I do have something BIGG to announce and tell you about….  but let’s do a quick recap….

Early this year Bigg Romeo was given the honor of receiving the Weddingwire.com and the Martha Stewart Network’s “Bride’s Choice” award for 2010.  This is given to the Top 5 % of wedding vendors based solely on unsolicited Bride feedback. This is an amazing honor.  We work very hard at all our weddings to make everything perfect.

In 2001 the then guitar player and I (along with the band) at the time changed the way bands in the wedding business did business in Philadelphia.  We presented out potential customers with a DVD. Doesn’t sound like anything special now in 2010 but 9 years ago it was a really big deal.  But not only did we put out a 14 minute wedding DVD but then topped that with a record breaking video shoot at “The Barn” with over 12 cameras shooting us.  That DVD was also a first by an area cover band.

We shot a new DVD this winter that will be available early summer. We had to out-do ourselves and be as different as possible so we called the best video people we knew, Reisbord Video. They came to our high tech video shoot with the latest and hottest technologies and our video will be the only area video shot in PURE HD.  It will be very different than your average “my band is the best, book me” wedding demo.  We can’t wait to share it with you…..

And in keeping with firsts…. It’s my pleasure to tell you about our latest one …. Bigg Romeo is the first cover band in America to have an iPhone Application available in the iTunes store as of this morning.  It’s the first iPhone application from Ego Studios and built in partnership with Matt Quinn. The application features music, tweets, blogs, our schedule and the coolest feature is that all the pictures we take from the stage you an now share with your friends right from your iPhone.

How is that for staying ahead of the game?

Becca and Lam got married on April 11th, 2009 at the Warrington Country Club.  Dave played piano while guests arrived and for the ceremony.
